Media Relations and Crisis Communications

NON-PROFIT CONSERVATION ORGANIZATION

OUR APPROACH:IPA has existing relationships with key media outlets that maximize positive coverage and support public policy and communications initiatives on behalf of our clients. In order to achieve success for this client, IPA has focused on demonstrating the organization’s willingness to work with industry and the environmental community, supporting non-partisan solutions to incentivize statewide participation and increase issue awareness. A key to this approach is taking this highly complex policy discussion and creating a story the media can understand and share with the public and other key stakeholders. IPA assists its individual clients in efforts to maintain relationships with its key constituency – the public it serves. Pivoting and positioning off of the organization’s existing good standing as a long-time civic participant and leader in the community enhances that client’s reputation and further demonstrates the value of the client to the region and state. Communicating the group’s non-partisan ideology improves both their short-term credibility and their longstanding reputation with local communities, industry sectors and other NGOs.

CLIENT CASE STUDY:

Texas is a big state with a vast array of natural resources and keeping an objective focus on the responsible use of these valuable treasures is a monumental task. When a non-governmental organization (NGO) wanted to raise awareness of the importance of land conservation, energy planning and funding to ensure adequate water supplies in the future, it turned to IPA for help crafting a campaign that effectively promotes its core mission and policy initiatives while continuing to encourage Texas’ economic prosperity. To maintain this balance, IPA has successfully identified solutions to engage the media, the legislature, and the public to develop support for the NGO and its key objectives.
